I'm a pilot, that's what it says on my file, probably. Not that I'd know. Where I'm from, no papers dictate who you are. Licenses, birth certificates, bank checks; pretty much a formality with little meaning, at least within the borders of what they control. Kind of a resistance to the bureaucracy, really. And probably their biggest problem. We'll say I'm a relief worker, how about that. That's what the UN would graciously refer to me as, probably only in session while everyone's listening. I like to think that's right. There are other names. Not savory things, mind you. But that happens to everyone, in varying degrees. You learn to accept that people kind of suck, in general, at some point in your life, sooner or later. You learn to find Rome a city of brick, and leave it a city of marble, or at least try, before you get sick of the Romans.
